After some help please . My fan didn't seem to be coming on so I changed the coolant temperature sensor and still haven't heard my fan kick in . Ive done some fairly hard riding with a lot of stopping - pushing . Is there a fuse or anything?
The fuel economy is poor so I am wondering if the two are related .
I'm about to get the Ibeat set up to see if I can improve the economy . Havent seen anyone posting much about CO settings with the 450 - anyone ?

    Check the fan itself.

setting the СО on the selected motor is individuality. On my SM450 2010 was the setting of CO: 96-99-102 for values of AF 13.3 using Innovate LM-2
..Ibeat will show the temperature of the antifreeze
    ..I hope what I write is understandable:excuseme:

Unplug it from the loom at its connector and feed 12v direct to it.

The fan works with 12 v direct . What could be stopping it coming on ? Ive read that some guys put a resistor in the temp sensor circuit - would this show the bike running cooler or hotter ? . I believe it makes it run leaner so shows it as hotter ?
If I run a resistor I am wondering if this will help my fuel economy

Great, we know the fan works and the temp sensor is new.
The problem will likely be with : the fan relay, the fan fuse or wiring connections (inc earth).
Unplug the relay and check the plug for power at the main power terminal, you may need the ign on. No power....check wiring from fuse.
If power is present, then bridge the main power terminal to the fan terminal (basically simulating the relay is switched on). Use a fused wire just in case you get them wrong, don't want to fry something. If the fan operates then time to test the relay.

If the wiring is the same as my SWM the fuse protects more than just the fan. It also protects some of the lights and the horn IIRC. So if everything else is working you'd say the fuse is ok.

Google wiring diagrams might be a good idea too.

Quality isn't the best but maybe it will help.

Thanks for the help Oldschool . Hard to track the wires as they disappear into the main harness . There are 5 fuses - 2 bigger ones near the exhaust side of the battery - 3 smaller ones on the other side
They all looked ok - ie not blown - one had some white powdery substance on it . Im not too worried about the fan as it doesn't seem to get that hot . I d really like to know why its running rich . I will try getting the Ibeat hooked up .
