Have anyone else had problems with their gearbox. This is the second that breaks.
The first one you can see here. TE 310
It had about 100 hours on it. This one have about 120 H on it.
This is what came out with the oil.

Morgan- I remember last year you had nearly the same damage; I think you had your engine cases welded (starter problem IIRC) and new gears (what about shafts & forks??).

btw- yours is the only 310 xlite that I have heard that has had a tranny failure. OTOH, I doubt there's more than 8,000 of 'em in the world (guessing). maybe someone that has direct knowledge of a bad tranny will jump in here.

I hate the fact that the Italians forced a 6th gear in there but didn't alter the final absolute ratio. If you can get a TC 5-speed tranny (and it fits) I might go that route.

what exactly is it that is breaking? 3rd driven gear again? why?

The crankcase is to much damaged so this engine will be spare parts.

No pics, the motor is not at my place. The crankcase was destroid on the inside so you could not see it from the outside.

I have a te250 with 3rd gear issues, it drops to 2nd then back to 3rd when you ease the power on, I'm only going to use the bike for trails, not racing so I can live with it as is for a while, no time to pull it to bits, is this a common fault? Will I cause anymore damage, just I don't have the time to pull it to bits.

No, this is not a common problem.

Was the motor ever rebuilt? Maybe someone left out a shim?

Maybe the factory left out a shim.

Are you keeping your chain too tight?
