Not sure if it's been asked here, but has anyone got the guts on how many of the engine parts etc are interchangeable between the new SWM SR300 and the 2011 TE310.
I'm just about to buy new, (or at least try ) starter gears as my bike is suffering the common fault of it will electric start when cold, but not hot. Reading forums and talking to a dealer, the starter gears are the problem!
I'm going to buy the parts from Europe as they are about 60% cheaper than OZ.
All that money for a part that should of been recalled and fixed.
So has anyone here used the starter gears from SWM on the Husky 310?
I'm hoping SWM will be our saviour for parts.

The SWM 300 is the old version of the husky 310, there isn't really anything in common with the motors.

Did more research, mine is the old model and not the X-lite, so is the same as SWM. I just got a reply from SWM on Facebook and tell me they have retained the same part numbers, so if the part number from Husky matches the SWM, then the parts are the same.
I have also read that SWM are making the spares for the old Huskys. Any other info from members on the SWM would be great for the rest of us TE310 owners.

Yes doing a bit of homework on it, so hoping others have been too. I do love my Husky 310 when the electric kick works. If I can sort that it's a keeper.

So you are saying your bike is a 2010 TE 310 or earlier ? That would be good for you with the SWM stuff. Can you post a picture of your motor ?

Mine is a 2011 model. They are using the engine design from the 2009to 2012 model, not the Red Head X Light motor.
As I said, I got it from the SWM that if the numbers for parts from a SWM match your Husky, they are the same parts and can be used.
I will get onto the SWM dealer here today and quite him my part number, see if they have it. Hoping it's cheaper than Husky, I can get parts cheaper from the States or Europe.

The engine design from 2009 to 2012 is the black head x-lite motor design. If you give me the part number you are after I can probably check it for you to see if it crosses to the SWM. I am guessing you have a x-lite motor though since starter failures are common on the x-lite and rare on the older big block motors from 2003-2010.
