I will check mine, I have not done it yet. local guy I know that has a 17 300 Kato had his worn through the outer cover.

This is on my list "To Do" along with kick starter idler gear tap and longer bolt. I have the older cases.

I've got 2 gaskets just in case....still have not pulled the cover to inspect.

Why not just have a good machine shop turn the outer edge of the flywheel down for proper clearance.

don't want to lighten the flywheel. will do the 10 minute Slavens clearance mods if needed.

well mine has just the slightest evidence mark on the outer casing. So it did touch but did not cut in. I did what Jeff did, mixed up some epoxy put it behind the wire bundle and put on a spring clamp until it hardens (hopfully fast!!) I need to finalize prep for tomorrow!

Mine had a very mild mark that the flywheel touched. I just epoxied the harness to the cover too.

same kind of set up I did should be good to go....better be ive riding the crap out of it
