  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

speedo change from mph to klm

huskyaus

C Class
if broke my speedo and have found one for sale in the us..i live in aus..but you blokes are in miles and we are in klm..
does anyone know if it is possible to change over...
if so how do i go about it...
thanks......:excuseme:

When I got my 2010 TE510 it came with the speedo on KLM/Hr. It took me several tries to get it to switch over to MPH. The directions in the manual did not work out as stated. If i remember correctly I had to hold the toggle button down with the ignition off, and then turn it on and wait until MPH/KLM blinked and push the button once the desired one was displayed.

AFAIK it's the same speedo worldwide. But in all honesty I would install a vapor or the like before I replaced with stock.

I remember having to do the same thing, hold down a button and turn the key on until it starts the flash. It took a few tries before I got it to work. Just stay with it and good luck.

I've got the same problem, but need to change it from Metric to Imperial. I'll try holding the speedo button down while starting the bike, then toggling it until MPH comes up.

Heres the system...

Turn on key and let it cycle showing speed/odo on dash display if your not on that display then toggle the button on the right to set it there..

Now once that display is there, turn off the key and then push the right side button once and release.. Now

Repress the same button and hold it down and turn on the key at the same time and you will see in the very bottom of the display alternating from KMH to MPH at that time you release the button and wait for the reading you want as it will keep cycyling back and forth as that value you want is showing you push the right side button once and it locks it in..

Thats if folks..

Hope it helps

What makes the speedo light up ?? Does it have to be started ???

or is the kill switch the on off??? or another switch ???

On my ignition keyless bike, the speedo will not light up until the bike is started. Having the kill switch in the run position does not turn on the speedo.

I think I have to hold down the speedo button while starting the bike, then while its running, push the speedo button until MPH is displayed, but not sure.
