We've all noticed that the 150's come with the same size rear tire as the 250/300. It's too big. So I started searching for a smaller trials tire and came across the Shinko 241. It's available as 3.00, 3.50, 4.00 -18. I ordered a 3.50-18, sight unseen, from Dan at MotoXotica (15 minutes from me). Was a little concerned when I first saw it. Unmounted... looked like a minibike tire. But once installed it looked perfect on the 150. First ride I used an STI 2mm tube at 6psi and went out and did 50 uglies. Conclusion: This was a good move. I think most of the improvement came from the smaller size. The tire, itself, works about like every other trials tire I've owned: Incredible compliance and grip, but a little loss of control on downhill braking. Would love to see some of you try this and post your opinion.

Oh - I also temporarily ran a 100/100-18 Pirelli knobby when the original Dunlop wore out, as I hadn't yet found this Shinko. That was an improvement over the stock tire, too. So, ya, the smaller size helps the 150, so whatever you choose try a size smaller than the stocker and see what you think

Stock tire on a TE-150 is a 110-100x18 at 26" in height. My Shinko is a 100-90x18 at 24 and 3/4" in height. I lowered my front forks till I get taller rear tire. Haven't ridden it yet too see how it works. Gramps

My 150 came with a 2.15x19 rim from the PO. I got an 2.15x18 to install, but haven't because 100/90-19 with Tubliss work great. I thought about trying a 110 but haven't yet and can't believe they came with a 120 stock.

    They didn't. It's a 110 and it's too large.

I prefer the Shinko trials over the Michelin - the Michelin is marginally softer and hooks marginally better, but the Shinko has a rounder profile and corners much better.

I put a new Motoz Extreme Gummy on and it gets way too much traction. Overall, it's working great

Im running a Motoz hybrid extreme on both the Husky & the yamaha wr200, like a trials tyre but with a longer knobbly, excellent tyre as an all rounder
