I replaced mine with the one from electrexworld. The magnets on it are internal so you never have to worry about them coming loose again. Changing over the backplate isn't too bad it's pretty much bolt off bolt on. Needed a new pick u coil on mine as well cuz the magnet had damaged it.

Thanks, I will need to check what ignition mine is using, will most likely be the same as the 2006 model

    hi, I'm new here.
I have a sm 610s ( from 2000 ) and I have a similar problem. I changed the flywheel (with a RO610) and the stator+pickup coil ( a good one from an another bike ). But it doesn't start. It starts only with a bump start ( once I started, it works fine until I will shut it off ).
Do you have any advice ?

I apologize for any grammar mistakes. Thanks.

Is the stator definitely in the correct position? What bike did you get it off?

    Hi,
The stator is in the correct position.
From what i read there is the possibility that the pickup coil to not be compatible with the flywheel. TRUE or FALSE?

I don't know although I have heard of the pick up coil casing cracking, mine was damaged when my magnet came off the flywheel and I had to replace it. Search the forum there should be a list of ohm values etc for the stator wires.

    Hi,
Problem solved. I managed to acquire a flywheel with exposed magnets ( like the original one ). Now the bike starts, but with the new electrex flywheel it don't starts. Do you have any idea how to fix this electrex flywheel problem, because I don't know how long this old flywheel will work.

I apologize for any grammar mistakes. :)

I don't know. When I got the electric flywheel I fitted it with a new pick up coil and the old stator and it worked fine.
