Lady in the office showed me a photo of what may be a 1982 CR 250 bike looks complete, estate sale wants $450 Bike looks tired but complete

I have three Italian Huskys and think a proper Swedish one would be nice. (it was made in Sweden correct? Have no clue about older husky

    appreciate any input

yeah. $450....even if you just get a few parts off it it is worth it but older husky parts are not cheap. look before you leap.

Thanks again know nothing about these vintage of Huskys, again lady in the office said there was an "old motorocyle in a garage near her for sale that has the same funny name as the ones I ride"

    TE, 510, 630 and 511

    Anything special about that bike

    Perhaps picking it up today

You can check the engine number and frame number at www.husqvarna-parts.com . It definitely has a WR/XC frame. The engine can be no newer than 1981 as the engine you have is non primary kick. The 430 in 1981 was the first primary kick but the 250 did not get that until the 1982 model year. You could also have a hodge podge of mixed model year components as many of them will fit models below and above the actual year mounted to. Have fun, we all all here to help each other

Ok see attached. Looks like a got the following

1981 250 XC, looks like it will clean up well, do not know what was stock on it, has headlight and brake light

1986 400 Enduro, rear upper frame, seat, frender etc all in a box. As are perhaps the stock odometer and Tach and other bits and piece

Also got a box of riding gear, and bike stand.

    so the adventure begins

nice work, you picked up a nice representation of two fairly different examples of the swede machines..yet both are in ways very similar. the 400 is perhaps the best big bore they made.

    yes indeed!

that twin shocker looks really good just sitting there, does not look too used and beat up or even very much used..of course that does not mean it wasn't grenaded the first time down the road and parked but the bits viewable look spiffy.

That happens too, it broke the owners foot trying to start it, he fell on his head, was arrested, drafted, divorced, too old...oh the stories these bikes could tell...

and an 86 400, now where have I heard of those before?...oh yeah, mine!

great buy, two more saved from the bin.

Thanks, have the 250 down to the frame. Engine/Carb and shocks going out to a local shop in Detroit Area. Debating Shaker Can or sending frame out for blasting/powder coating

Question is full restoration or mild (less $$ redo) Never tore apart a bike like this and never split an engine

In case you don't know, if you are removing the clutch cover, leave the kickstarter and gear lever on their splines. They will come off with the cover, although it sounds like someone has already taken the kickstarter off, or the whole mechanism needs to be checked or reset. The spring may have failed or popped out but you won't know until the cover comes off.
Nice bike the '86, had one years ago and never should have sold it, great buy!
