Got a hit on my add for old left kickers.

Got the price down to 1500 over the phone. The guy has owned the bike since 87.
First owner kept it a few weeks and sold it as it was too much bike for him. :excuseme:
The current owner is only riding modern bikes now.

Really low use, looks to be really taking care of.

Bring it home tomorrow .

Another nice one  I like the late Swedes with ali swingarm and disc brake, but I've seen a few comments about "no more old WC Huskys for me" What's that all about?

not sure, some people dont like liquid cooled stuff period. the liquid swedes are great bikes...i mean the italians kept that same chassis for the thumpers a long time. i love how they handle and they are super stable. all the engine parts from 82-88 swap around, and the four stroke stuff made after that extends alot of that even further. not to mention they are some of the most comfortable ever made is a bonus too..
if you watch any isde or the like videos from the 80s, they are just riddled with swedes, lol..

sometimes its easier to find parts for these than fairly new italian stuff.

I would rather buy whole bikes like that as opposed to Lectron carburetors and connecting rod kits.
I did a want add once and it worked out pretty well.
I can see the 85-86 brake and tank/air scoop things. The alternator cover seems to be different from my 1988. You might get lucky and not have oblonged holes for the swingrm rod and healthy linkage parts.

I do not know about this though "First owner kept it a few weeks and sold it as it was too much bike for him."

#10 as a in running complete.
I tore apart 3 XC 400s for the extra room and to be used up as spare parts.

I dont need it, who cares for doubles right lol but its good for an investment or to trade for another bike.
He wanted 2k and said pass and replied with 1k and to settle at 1500 that to me was a steal.
Still need some water cooled 500s, 390 and a few autos

Good score, Steve. That 86 510 looks to be in nice condition. You don't often see that style of tail light intact. Looking forward to your report on it.

Speaking of Autos, I just bought a nice 88 430 Auto with WP forks. Will post some pics after I pick her up.
As said above, the liquid Swedes are cool bikes.

That is a 1987 510, the 1986 was air cooled. Fran...k mentioned the 85/86 parts but back then the 4 strokes got the upgrades a year after the 2 strokes.

Got it home, very happy with the bike.
The old guy who i bought it from took off the trails 15 years ago. He rode it around the farm once and a while.
The first owner was a small guy and was 60 years old, i can see why he sold it.
The bike really goes good, way faster than the 89.
Came with lots of parts and goodies.

I took the old decals off and cleaned the plastic up with a rag and brake clean lol
