• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Riding gear

HVA sells the gear reminicent of Team Husqvarna of the early 80's. Outside of that you would have to buy a modern helmet and have it painted plain color to match the time period. I bought a set of O'Neal mx pants that are plain enough to resemble leathers.

I have a bunch of JT gear in various colors, including Husky blue/yellow. You can still get it on eBay. The blue/orange looks good with my '82 CR tank also.

with husky returning to the swedish colors, more gear is starting to pop up from new manufacturers

Where is the good place to acquire good looking gear to match our bikes ? I don't really care for the new style with all the dam skulls .

I've been looking too. I don't like dam skulls or big brand names on my jerseys either.
Thor and JT Racing brands seem to have more old school styles. JT seems to have dropped their retro line up (as pictured above). Too bad, as it was cool.

found some very nice gear at my dealer new OLD stock
why do my pictures show inverted here????
loaded a pic of me in the gear but it looks stupid inverted, so i removed it

I had the same problem with pics.
Now I load them into an image program, like Mac Preview, then rotate them, and re-save them. Then they are ready to upload.
Seems to fix the problem.

tried to open that but my Mac won't do that for photos unless they are in the trash

shame on the Metro pants but first BMW and then KTM called the "gear Police" and stated without paying copyright royalty is a no go. all nonsense as Husqvarna AB never sold right to logo even to cagiva. retainined by sweden to this day
