Is there a spray decal remover that you guys or gals prefer? I'd like to remove decals and stickers on the metal gas tanks and plastics?

I just purchased a 83 milk truck gas tank and want to paint it. I need to remove the decals they put on it without ruining the paint in that area making more work.
