    Wats the go with these type of links? Hava spare n my normal type joiner is toast so was gonna use this one. How do u peen/mushroom them over? Cheers

    There is a special tool that you can use with a chain breaker. Or you can try peening it over by using a ball bearing and a c-clamp. the bearing fits in the little divot of the rivet. If you try the c-clamp route just go a little at a time so you don't over do it and make the link jam up. Its a bit of a pain in the arse but it can be done that way. I usually only see the peened over type on street bikes. Good luck :)

    Ahh I see. No chain breaker/tool on hand. Yeah dunno why it came with this type of joiner. Might jus grab a clip type at bike shop in the am instead. Cheers

    Me being of the bush mechanic persuasion I'd use two hammers(re bottom draw)one behind and peen the pins over,I think this type of master link is suposed to be stronger and more reliable than clip type so i'd be tempted to use it.

    Yeah, that's basically a permanent link too. Not good if you like to remove your chain. I've never had clip type fail and I like to remove my chains and soak/clean once a month or so. :cheers:

    Didn't hav much time to muck around as hav visitors so jus grabbed a did vx2 master link for $7 from husky shop. Job dun. Mite use peen type wen put new chain n sprockets on soon! Cheers

    Btw runnin 2 master links as had to extend chain a while back to fit a 50t sprocket.

    Two master links,bit captain risky,did that once before,ended in tears!!

    Shit haha well guess I'll see how she goes!!! Done 5 hours or so already so fingers crossed. Gotta order coupla new chains soon!
