Not sure if there is a difference between a 72 and a 73, but 250ml's seems very low, unless visiteur is talking about fork amounts. I'm putting 1500ml's in my 73 WR250 crancase. There should be a check level bolt in your side case though. I don't fill it to that, but when I tip the bike a little, oil comes out of the check hole.

1500 ml's would be 1.585 quarts if my conversion is right . Thanks for the input !

According to my old oil stained Clymer manual...MJ Series (72, 73):
    > 1.6 liter for trans/clutch. Back then they spec'd 20 wt motor oil. See other threads for discussion about what oil to use. Many (including me) use Type F ATF
    > For the forks: 6 oz per leg. They also spec'd engine oil back in the day. Now use one of the good fork oils...your choice of weights...20 or 30 would be a good place to start.

Very nice bike. It has a CR pipe on it. Sure it's not a CR?

The number on motor is 2032 and frame is Mk09746 which puts at a 73 husky 250wr. I think someone switched the tank and exhaust. Im having trouble with throttle cables but I think someone switched the twist throttle, which makes my vintage viking cables I bought not work. Will someone put up pics of what the twist throttle should look like. I did get the bike fired up by the way. Starts up every time.
