• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

this summer JD Jetting asked me if I had a TMxx they could use to develop a kit for as i was telling them about the lack of good needles for this one. They did a bunch of work and I will be getting one of these kits Friday. He said the stock needle was way weird and way off base and there new kit makes the TMxx work great and be far less finicky. We will see.

updated 12-28-12

APT - Rules
Lectron - Rules
TMxx with kit - very good
Stock TMX - works fine on my CR

When did I become carb tester dude? My bike is probably like WTF. :>)

I LOVE setting up bikes, suspension, 165 kits, pipes, it is so much fun. I also seem to like taking pix so it all goes together well and if the info provided helps people, great.

I read some rumors that they would have a needle kit for the later WR300s....but that was over a year ago, and I have never seen anymore on the subject or a kit offered on their website.:excuseme:

I called JD this past summer when I was trying to dial in my carb and he said they didn't have anything for me. They must have gotten a lot of interest recently.

You are becoming KELLY THE CARBINATOR

hmmm, RB mod'd TMXx + JD kit... this might be what i run next season until the APT vs Lectron dust settles

did JD give any timeline for the kits?

to echo everyone, this is awesome info you're gathering, Kelly! appreciate it.

I did a lot of testing with/for James and I can't imagine my wr running any better. that being said, about the only thing I didn't change was the body. he even sent me a pwk to compare and I like the tmxx better.

yeah I think they even change the Nozzle (for the main / needle) on that kit. Said that carb was way off stock. Will test the Lectron for a few rides then try the JD TMxx deal.

When can the rest of us expect to be able to get a hold of these needles and stuff for our 300s?
