Just found out I have to go to NV for 2 weeks after Thanksgiving. I'm considering driving and bringing my bike with me and meeting a buddy from CO in Moab on the way home in mid December. I've done some net searching and it seems like it very possible to ride Moab in December, but it all depends what the weather brings. Any insight? I have to make a quick decision as to whether to drive or book a flight.

If there is any snow dont bother. I road there once in snow and it is very challenging on that slick rock stuff.

I say go for it, We go the 1st of November every year and have a blast. Snow can make it challenging but there are so many options for you to ride that even if the rocks are snowy you can ride other areas. I found a new trail this year and it was by far the best ride we have ever had. You can good Enduro Loop, Green River UT and there are some sites that have videos and maps.. PM me if you would like further information.

Could be snow one day and beautiful the next. I would see what the long range forecasts are.

Slick, Pretty and dangerous. When we get to the snowy rocks, we find other routes to take. Slick rock is not fun with snow.
Have you ever ridden Dead cow Wash or the Luge or Mary's Trail Motosportz?

Thanks. I'm waiting to hear back if there is a spot open in a training class. If so, I'll most likely driving out there with bike in tow.

No, I don't know all the good secret spots so have ridden the usual. Poison spider, Cliff hanger, Moab rim, slick rock, Sovern, etc.

Well, it's set up. I'll be in Elko, NV on the 1st but not sure exactly how long I'll be there. I'm hoping I can leave on the morning of the 13th and head to Moab, but don't know for sure yet.

You needed to beat the crap out of yourselves going up Pritchard canyon. Worst/best stuff in Moab. Jon and I have a disagreement on how long it took us to go the 6 miles to the end of the canyon. I say 2 hours, he says 3 hours. The other 42 miles of the "behind the rocks" trail of that ride was a cake walk in comparison. We did stop and yack with a Bike tour guide and client half way through for a half hour. He only takes his riders down the canyon.

Dead cow wash is cool but the single track near Chimney Rock was ubber fun. There is so much riding outside the well known Moab trails that a rider really needs to spend serious time in the area to find it all.

No I don't. There is an abandoned gas station on 6 and the turn off is like 5 miles past that towards green river.
