  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

Here is a decorder chart for the needle:

Example of the Husky CR125 Needle (6DJ8-60):
6 = Series 6 needle
DJ = Double tapered: D / J
1st taper = D (1 min = 1 deg)
2nd taper = J (2 min 30 sec = 2.5 deg)
-60 = Diameter is 2.60mm
Note:
-59 / -60 / -61 = 2.59mm (1 step richer) / 2.60mm (standard) / 2.61mm (1 step leaner)

Temperature and Altitude Correction Chart (for Mikuni TMX carb; 2008 and earlier bikes). The newer Mikuni TMXX carb (2009+ bikes) may have different ratios for main jet / pilot jet.

UPDATED 21Feb2012: I noticed this chart had incorrect main jets listed at -10C/14F. I put the corrected sizes in red. I found this out when comparing the 2008 manuals for 125 and 250 bikes.

Please post below if you have other useful information to add to this reference page.

Thanks!

Is there a 6DJ8-61 available? I put a 144 top end on and need a needle leaner than the stock -60. The -60 is the leanest one I know of.

What year and model is that temperature and altitude chart for? The one for my 09 250 is different (richer). Those settings are a little closer to what I arrived at for my elevation.

It was in my 2008 CR125 manual which uses the older TMX. The new TMXX carb uses different main and pilot jets from what I've seen others posted. Your comments agree.

Can you post a pic of your table? It would be a good addition to this thread.

The Husky workshop manual for 2008 bikes listed the 6DJ8-61 as being available (part number = 8B0086920). You should be able to order through a Husky dealer.
