Hi, has anyone tried a flatslide Mikuni TM36-31 on a 510 and can share what jetting they use?

    Got a TM36 (w/ acc. pump) leftover from a XT500 and my 89 510TE has a scrap Dell Orto 40mm.
I think the early a/c 510 had a 36mm pumper carb so it should work ok, right?

External size is very similar between the two and a correct rubber manifold is available from Mikuni. Only special part needed would be a stepped piece between carb and airbox rubber.

I installed a 40mm Keihen FCR on my 86 510. Bike runs and starts much better than the Dellorto. Good luck!

Thanks! I've never ridden a 510 so have no experience at all with the carbs they used.
But a brand new TM38 was about the same cost that I'd have to spend to fix the worn Dell Orto, so the choice was easy.
