    Hi

Can I use the 35mm stanchions from MikeXS in my CR390?

Read something about it in a thread a while ago, but I don't remember the outcome.

I have not purchased a set as of yet so I can not guarantee the Husqvarna damping rods will fit in them. They are a cost effective alternative if the damping rods fit or can be modified to work with them. I would say to find specs for XS650 damping rods to make a comparison to. I no longer have my SR500 forks as they sold on eBay about 10 years ago. The TT500 damping rods seem to have the same head size as the Husqvarna rods but I have not done a measurement as of yet.

Make sure you measure the length of your tubes as Mike's has 3 different lengths. Try to match your's as closely as possible.

I agree these would be a nice alternative. I priced a set of tubes from Franks Forks a year ago and they were $349.00, I see that Mikes are $149.00 per set. In addition to the ID being correct for the Husky dampening rods one would also need to check if the threaded ends were the same? The stock gray fork stanchions are 23-1/2" and Mikes appear to be 23", close enough to cut a 1/2" from the springs.

I know of one set with Honda 35mm staunchions in them . Much stiffer too apparently . Quite long tho . The bike had 100 mm above the top clamp

Mikes also carries +6" for those wanted the extended front end on their XS650 so the 23" is the best for most Husqvarna 35mm forks. When travel get over 11" you really need 40mm forks.
