Ok, so it's roadracing, and it's Randy Mamola's son...but his bike is powered by Husky! This is cool news for me, as I always enjoyed watching Randy Mamola race. He was always a nice guy when showing up at Alice's in his Ferrari, too From Cycle News: "Dakota Mamola took a step toward emulating his father's successful grand prix career with his first ever podium in a Catalan championship race in Montmelo, Spain. Racing for the second weekend in a row, Dakota, the 14-year-old son of four-time 500cc World Championship runner-up Randy Mamola, qualified seventh and finished third in the Pre-125 class of the Campionats de Catalunya de Motociclisme at the Circuito de Catalunya, site of the June Catalunya Grand Prix. The young Mamola, seen here on the grid with team manager Emilio Alzamora, the former 125cc World Champion, races in two different championships. Last week in Castelloli, Spain he qualified 10th and finished fifth in the Mediterranean championship. Mamola rides a Metrakit Pre GP 125, powered by Husqvarna, for Team Monlau Competicion. Already Dakota has picked up sponsorship from Monster Energy, Arai helmets, and Alpinestars leathers." WoodsChick

4 times, I believe....1980, 1981, 1984 and 1987. He was a lot of fun to watch, especially if it was raining. He's a local boy from my home town and I've always had a soft spot in my heart for him. It was his loyalty to Cagiva that probably shortened his career. They just ran out of money. Anyone remember this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vzHO9Evb1g WoodsChick
I'd ride on the back of whatever Randy was piloting at the moment Well, maybe not the 500 2-stroke... WoodsChick
I think Randy went on to finish that race the 1985 San Marino GP ( at Misano Adriatico) with a broken fairing and badly tweaked thumb/wrist. If anyone deserved a #1 plate it was him
