Maico to husqvarna air filter compatability

Wondering if the early 80s maico air filters fit the 83 wr430, seem to look similar on google images but putting it out their as i have easy access to maico but no husky locally.
Read the early 4t filters and the maicos are the same.

Four stroke Husky filter is different to the two stroke. Four stroke sits much higher in the airbox due to carb mounted on the head and not on the barrel like a two stroke. It is smaller as there is less room for it to fit into in the airbox.
If you used the Maico cage and filter together it should work - not sure if the clamp mechanism will work however so need to check that out. Otherwise order the right filter from Unifilter or Twinair.

Thanks Pez, bbi importers are just around the corner from me, they stock husky pistons and some other bits but no filters.
Will have to order online, would have been a good alternative if it where possible.

I purchased an air filter for my 1984 WR400 from NOTOIL. very nice construction with good materials. as nice as a twin air or UNI IMO.

Tracked down a company called ficeda, who have agents locally and ordered through them.
Ficeda are based in eastern states australia,cost should be around the $40 usd mark.
The ex usa filters from ebay work out around $50 to $60 each with freight.
