Order on line or call a dealer that's not in California and they will drop ship it to you.

I have a 2010 TE510. Sadly it may become stripped. I need a frame with a Canadian VIN. So, I'll be selling the US frame. (With a clean title.)
Anyone know if I have any options regarding the frame that I get? Can I use a 2008/2009 chassis?
    Thanks for any knowledge.

Yes chassis is the same from 08-10 on sm, smr, te, tc, and txc 450-510 Some other models may fit also but those I'm almost positive work..

"almost positive" is a phrase that worries me. On my frame it's stamped as TE/SM. I'm sure they're the same. It says so. I wonder about the other models though. Could there be a difference due to FI vs Carb? I'd think that the difference would be around the airbox/subframe???
    Thanks again

I believe the frame is stamped TE/SM due to there being a steering lock housing welded to the frame. As far as I know, the frames are exactly the same dimensions on the carbed and EFI bikes.

I have a new to me '08 TE450. Is there any difference between the
    '08 and '09-'10 frames ? I have read that at one point 1 kg ( 2.2 lbs )
were shaved off from one model year to the next. Is this from '07
to '08 and up or from '09 and up.

I am aware there were major changes from '07 to '08 though.

Dirtydeeds there may be a '10 frame with papers up my way if you are still looking.

If you look at the parts fiche, the 08 frame is much different than the 09/10 one.

Ok took a look at the parts fiche :

It is the same drawing as the '07, someone forgot to update the drawing ?
My frame is same as '09-'10 ( oval tubing, full perimeter ) but my
bike is an '08. The only difference I see is the tubular magneto case
guard welded to frame ( the '09 - '10 have plastic guards both sides )

    What gives ? Was there an '08 1/2 ?

'08-'10 all same except for the tubular case guard on frame.
'10 got the Kayaba's and some internal mods on the shift forks, etc.
    That's pretty well it.

I picked up an '08 SMR450 and this vacuum port is vented to atmosphere which struck me as odd and may explain some of the idling issues I'm starting to tackle.

I found a couple more differences - between the carb and EFI frames. The mounting hardware for the electronics is different. They're just tiny pieces of metal. I knocked them off the TE frame and welded them onto the TXC frame. (Had to knock off TXC tabs, too.). No factory holes for the TE kickstand, either.

Anyhow, it's not a big deal.
The TE is now on a TXC frame.
Consequently, I'll be posting the TE frame for sale.

    Hey guys!

New to the forum! I hope it's cool if I just jump in this thread to ask a question? It seems to be fairly active still.

I'm in the hunt for a bike, and I've found a 2010 TE 510 with 290 miles. It looks to be in great shape (I've seen in person) Only problem is, the asking price feels high to me, and I'm just wanting to see what you guys think?
$6599 is the price. Am I off-base here? Average I've found, for my area, is about $4400'ish. Granted, those have higher miles, and have gotten a lot more use, but an over 2K difference doesn't seem justified.

Thanks for any input, guys! Really appreciate it.
