    Hi,
I hope all of you Husky people are doing well today:) . I want to start off saying these years are some of the toughest parts to find giving the non power-valve pistons and cylinders.

How about we post what information and or pictures we may have to help those like myself better understand exactly what part is needed for this issue. Hard to find Pistons and very little information Available about them.

Great idea, as a owner of 1 it would be nice to have the option to rebuild it.
I took it out of the bike to keep it mint, i put a spare 400 in for now.

nos are sometimes available and wossner has some. what else do you want? getting a custom batch made takes alot of money up front.

I have not seen any NOS Pistons. I also can't find the correct Wossner that is designed for the non powervalve since the piston have different cuts. The closest thing have found is the 87,88 husqarna 240 piston at 67.44mm. It would be nice to have a piston blueprint of the original.

the problem is we are about 30 years out, since there were only 350 CR models made spare pistons are more abundant
while that sounds backwards, think of the dealer back then, buy spares for both, but more of the XC, WP sold so those spares need inventory replacing
now they move to Italy and the spares are not being made due to contract issues with suppliers, such as Mahle
I sold my 87 XC250 engine with a new piston to a friend and have not seen one since, just happened my dealer had one in stock
    just dumb luck ya know

It would be nice to have a piston blueprint of the original.

Yeah that would be nice, but unless someone going to a special run, it probably
    won't happen.

Still got to be easier then finding pre 75 125 pistons

eBay has some 125/175 stuff I didn't look for the late 80's 250 pistons.

Years ago I delt with a Husqvarna dealer in the north west. He imported Husqvarna gaskets from the orginal manufacturer and pistons too he had everything in stock. Gresen husqvarna?? I think. He was in the dirt rags. Probably over 20 years ago.

The piston you mention is as close as you will get to the original, and it's already being produced at a reasonable cost. The intake cutaway really isn't a hassle, I think it took me about 30 minutes from start to finish to emulate the original, but if you find this a problem, take it to a workshop/machine shop with the measurements I sent you, any competent workshop can do it in less time than it took me.
