When i read BMW was buying Husky, i kinda thought suddenly all kinds of cool xtreme prototypes would pop up. Kinda like the hybrid concept.

But hey, we got the SMQ!

Kudos to KTM for once again thinking outside the bun. That looks like a very cool adventure bike.

Steve Christini has a much better, patented, technolgy for AWD bikes. Kits for Honda & KTM and is working on a new from-scratch AWD bike for military applications.

Christini has a mechanical version of 2wd. Rotax too has a mechanical version.

Ohlins has a successfull hydraulic version.

    KTM proposes an electric version.

Somebody needs to do a 2wd shootout.

I've ridden the christini 2wd on a CRF270 (BB kit) and it was cool. This weekend I'll be testing a Christini KTM 250 2 smoke and the new Husaberg with the inverted motor. Will report.

I feel the Husky is the only bike I need but when I read your words about a 2 stroke 2wd and an exotic like the Husaberg I dream of winning the lotto.

having already ridden he Christini, it is cool but I am in no hurry to get one. The husaberg on the other hand I am told feels like a 2 stroke and VERY light. I'm looking forward to that. All that said the limiting factor on my TXC450 is me. A $10,000 Husaberg is probably not something i will ever end up with. If you see a TXC450 and Sm610 in the classifieds Monday you'll know the Husaberg is the bomb. :D

I hear ya, double my skills and I'll still fall short of using all of the TXC. My heart still pines for a 2 stroke at times, the 2wd would be cool for some situations and the ultra exotic Husaberg may be too loud for my humble personality. :D The problem with having multiple bikes in the garage is that your usually on the wrong bike for that days particular ride. It would be a bad problem to have.

My nicely setup for woods YZ250 got sold after sitting in the garage doing nothing after receiving the TXC450. The YZ was cool for a lot of stuff and light but I just love the TXC and did not see ever climbing back on the YZ. i used to ride the fence on the 4st/2st thing but think i lean tot he 4st side pretty good now. just love the smooth power, e-start, and smoothness of it all. I'll deal with a little weight as the trade off.
