  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Kick start problem on new TC250

herpindo

Husqvarna
A Class
We just received a brand new TC250 and found that it is almost impossible to kick start. It seems that the compression is really high and even with a lot of effort it is very hard to kick over. The piston is not stuck at all and the bike starts and runs fine when push started, does anyone have any idea what maybe causing this????

We are working on this ,we think its got something to do with auto decompressor on certain camshafts,I have one my self now just for research purposes. This week we will be experimenting and ill keep you posted ,billf

Thanks Billf, so is this quite a common problem? The factory must guarantee against something like this no!??

Yeah they will do that ,start pretty good, even before jetted with new parts kit. However when certain ones come up on top compression ,it bends the kickstart lever they kick so hard .You sware they locked up}?I talked to another dealer who swapped a cam from a TXC same p/n and it helped.Mine starts pretty good and runs well ,but every now and they it does that lock up thing and even with me be careful its bending my lever>im not panicked, but we need to figure it out.Husqvarna N.A has always been there for us and any reasonable request for help has been responded to well by Rob and the crew there,no worries..I really like that bike and the TXc wich have been great bikes{just reflashed my first 2 yesterday} so i want to get this figured out asap.billf >21/2 weeks until OHio and we can see whats upfor 2011.

I thought there was a recall in Europe for this issue? I remember reading about it either here or at TT. Some in Europe got new cams with a modified Decomp mechanism.

Do you think it would be possible to repair the decompression mechanism as we don't have enough time to wait for the replacement....our MX nations start in 2 weeks!!! Help!!

Yes!!! A small spring on the de compression unit wasn't quite bent round enough!! Easy to adjust and fixed the problem immediately!!
