• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

So James and Motosportz have had a relationship for some time. He is local and a good off road guy. Been selling piles of his very good PWK with JD stuff. So getting into EFI he took my 511 this last week, ran it and got some baselines and info for programming his Fuller for this bike. Well it is done.

We are offerinag all JD 6X fuelers and will ahve them up ont he site shortly. We ahve stock of them now so feel free to Email me about them if you like. I have been using one for several weeks, fantastic upgrade and amazing control over your EFI ont he fly. Makes a very noticeable difference and fixes the stumble / glitchy EFI on the EFI X-lite bikes.

Let me know if you need info / a Fueler.

Models for huskys are...

- 250/310 X-lite
- 449/511 TE/TXC
- 610/630, DOHC 510/450
- DOHC 250

so as of not everything EFI husky is covered.

going to do free shipping this month. Come and get them :D

Thanks
Kelly

No problem. Interesting tidbit from the Dyno runs is that the airbox on this bike seems to limit the top end. Gets to about 8K and goes flat no matter the fuel. Just can't suck anymore. My bike has all the power i need but the SMR guy might have some work to do. I know that one top pro SMR 511 guy is doing well so they can do it.

WOW, just got info from JD, my TE511 gained 11 HP with the JD Tuner************************************************************************************************************************!! JD said it completely transformed the bike. That was my seat of the pants feeling as well. Bike was way lean especially on top. Low overall numbers are due to correction values and warn out trails tire on the rear. But the difference is obviously HUGE. Said the bike would get to 7000 rpm and fall flat on it's face which is how it felt. Also said it seemed to pull harder than number indicate for some reason. It is his Dyno he runs a lot so he knows how the machine feels. He thought there was a good bit more power trapped in the restrictive airbox. Anyway WOW.

in his words...

"The TE511 now revs to 11,000rpm and pulls to the rev limiter, where before the motor would drop off at 7500rpm.
An amazing change to the motor at full throttle."

Blue is stock with power up, red is with JD tuner. Amazing.

When you install mine i want open the air box. Will the tuner keep compensating for changes automaticly i.e. 530 kit or is it a manual adjustment.Do you think I will see the same power increase percentage wise in the 510. It feels like it goes flat on top as well

Manual adjustment. Works well and is intuitive. also displays what part of the map you are in whole riding so you know what your settings do. Works real well. Will have plenty of range to compensate for BB kits and pipes etc.

I don;t think the 510 is near as corked as the 511, i bet you see more like 3-5hp gains depending on the setup. I bet you do get a lot more on top, JD says all the huskys EFI's are very lean especially on top. BTW TXC510 made more power on his dyno than almost any dirtbike bike he has strapped to it, very strong when all adjusted.

That was close . I also got mine ordered yesterday afternoon.... love the sound of a more robust power band and I guess I can use 11 HP at China Hat ****************************************

Might have to do the TE250 next.

Do you have to run that big controller pad thing or can you fob it off once you've got the tuning sorted? It looks like it's asking to be damaged in a stack.

what sort of gains does a '11 TE310 see?
I'd call or email James. He's very easy to talk to and would have relevant info. My installation needed tweaked even from his pre-sets. Almost all settings needed to be richer to eliminate bogs or stuttering. Just my experience, though.

Yes, the "huge" 3.5 in x 2.125 in controller is part of the system. It's easy to mount with velcro or double sided tape.

The controller is actually quite small, about credit card size. I ran it on my bars because i wanted to play with it will riding and it has indicators as to where you are on the map. After you sort out your settings, you can put it anywhere like under the seat or on the back side of the number plate.

As for settings "3" is FLAT as in it is simply passing the OEM map and not modifying it. almost everyone will run theirs on the richer settings to get where they need to be as the bikes are lean from the factory.

OK, I am nearly convinced for my TE511.

I guess that I can tame the delivery if I need to by removing fuel.

What does the 6X JD EFI tuner cost and availability ?

$209. Shipping this week (449/511) Yes, you can always go back to stock by simply setting everything back to 3. It also just one connector and a grount to install / remove.

I'll have my bike back from JD in a day or two and will do a follow up report after this weekend. I expect big things based on my seat of the pants Dyno before i handed it over to them.
