• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

It is gonna be 2 long weeks

Hi everybody. My name is Stian and i live in Norway
I have just purchased a brand new SM630. My local dealer should have it ready for use in a couple of weeks.
I was originally searching for a KTM, but the nearest KTM dealer i about 2 hours of driving away, and the Husqvarna dealer is about 2 minutes driving away, so it came natural to get a Husky.

Since it is winter time here i ordered a set of knobbies with studs for the motard wheels.

So then i found this community ,and it seems like a good one.
Then i wonder what to look out for on my oncoming "girl"
What should i look out for / be aware of in the first miles?
is there any upgrades you would recomend?

SM630, ....mmmmm..., nice bike.....very nice bike in fact.
Just taken delivery of one myself.

Some bikes come from the factory such that the Side Stand will scratch through the black paint on the side of the swing arm when it swings back into the stored position.
Get your dealer to check for this and bend / modify the side stand such that this does not happen.

Run the bike in according to the manual - paying good attention to the procedure for the first 4 hours of operations.

Some posts on this forum have reported the presence of metal filings in the oil sump, so I would strongly recomend an oil + filter change no later than 100km.

Get you dealer to check all mounting bolts for tightness and thereafer do your own checks - also keep an eye on the rear sprocket bolts from time to time

A lot of posts also recomend the powerup kit with the twin Arrows exhausts. That mod is definitely on my list.

Thats some of the basics.

Trawling thru the posts on this forum is well worth the time, you will learn a lot of invaluable things about you SM that can save you a lot of time, money and agro down the line.

Anyway, best of luck and enjoy.
