Ive owned my 2011 te449 for about 2 months now. I had to replace the stator shortly after purchasing the bike but other than that no issues. Went for a ride last weekend and noticed my screen said "fail". The bike ran fine so I ignored it. It would go away and come back on with shutting bike off. It has been doing this the last week on a off. Sometimes it comes on while i am riding and sometimes before i start engine and sometimes it never comes on. Curious as to what causes the "fail" screen.

Also i purchased the bike without rear blinkers. I installes blinkers but they wont work. There is a green and brown wires behind tail light and one gets power with bike on. I am assuming this was for a license plate light. Does this need to be hooked up for turn signals to work?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

I also have the intermittent "FAIL" signal on my 2011 TE449 but everything seems to run and work fine so I just ignore it also.

I put cheap after market blinkers on my 13 TE449. If I reverse the leads they don't work, weird but true. Try swapping polarity on the lights.

Not weird. The third letter in LED stands for 'diode'... electricity will only flow through in one direction.

They weren't LEDs, on mine anyway. OP doesn't state his were either.

Possible you have a dirty/corroded connector for the efi system somewhere.
It's a good idea to get some dielectric grease for the treminals. Go through one connector at a time, spray with a good electrical cleaner & treat with the grease as you reconnect them.
Also avoid using a pressure washer on any electrical connections when you wash the bike.

You may have another fault, but that's a good place to start.
