Changing the oil on my 510 this afternoon, and found this in the oil screen. Any ideas where it may have come from?

I bought the bike in November and did an oil/filer change and cleaned the screens. Last month I did just an oil change without a screen cleaning/filter change.

Almost looks like liquid gasket, and the shape is probably not indicative of the shape of any particular gasket. I wouldn't worry about it, I found this on my first 500 mile oil change, I didn't worry about it, went on to put 20,000 miles on the 2010 TE450

it looks like silicone spluge (which is never a good idea to use excessively in an engine- for the reason you're experiencing). I'd guesstimate it was an 1-1/2 inch rounded-corner rectangle maybe?

Big-block people: anything shaped like that it the top end?

you might be missing a half-inch piece. also look on your filter for silicone bits and in the old oil.
