    Posting for reference.
Mid to late 80's Swedish-made Huskys used an Ohlins single shock.
I found some color codes for the rear Ohlins single shock while going through the '87 parts manual. From page 13 of the 1987 Husqvarna Parts Manual - All Models.

Since I own a few of these bikes, I always wondered what color codes = what spring rates?

These Ohlins color codes, using 3 small paint brush marks, are painted on top of the Ohlins spring. I'm not sure if Ohlins used these codes for all model years, but I know they are on the 87 and 88 models.

If anyone can fill in the gaps or verify, let me know and I will edit this post.
Thanks to rwgregory for adding some missing color codes.

Those color codes are actually directly from Ohlins and are not Husqvarna markings. Today Ohlins prints the actual numbers on their springs to take the guess work out of spring rates. I actually prefer the color codes myself...

Thanks for clarifying. I didn't realize Ohlins was doing the codes. Makes sense as there are no other marking on the springs.
Yes, my new Ohlins do have the rates printed on them.

    Hmm. Good question.
If they are the yellow Ohlins springs, only two thoughts...
    1) the blue color is really purple so they are 43 Nmm and 47 Nmm per the manual or
    2) the springs rates are stiffer than 51 Nmm.
I don't know the color chart above 51 Nmm.

We're getting there, but we're still missing the colors between 5.1 Nm and 6.1 Nm.
Maybe somebody will let us know.

I am guessing that tomorrow I will call italian Ohlins importer ( Andreani Group ) where I remind now I have a couple of friends.
I am sure they know the colors between 5.1 Nm and 6.1 Nm.
I will let you know asap, of course.

Wow. I'm surprised the spring rates go that high. Who rides a spring that stiff?
I've added your codes to my original post and I guessed at a few codes as well.

I bought two late 86 510 titled as 87's. One has yellow painted spring and the other has orange painted spring. The orange seems softer. What are the color rates for these colors. Thanks
