Hi all Cafe members, great to see the Cafe alive and seemingly well, I thought it was gone for good!

A friend has a 76 250WR which he wants to fit a hpi ignition, not listed on their site, has anyone here done it?

I know there are other brands, PVL, Vape, Electrex etc.

I don't have any experience with the application but the HPI site shows a unit for a 78 250WR and the Husky parts list shows the same right stub-shaft part number both the 76 and 78 250WR, but the part lists have been known to be wrong. Maybe someone familiar with both the 76 and 78 250WR will chime in.

Thank you, this model I am unfamiliar with regarding crank stub taper.

Tony, the part numbers for the 78 crank stub in the Husky book are wrong. The only difference is the position of the keyway for the flywheel. If there is no keyway on the HPi ignition then it's not going to be an issue.
The part number in the book will result in a stub with the two keyways at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock. The correct one for the 78 will have the keys at 11 o'clock and 6 o'clock. It doesn't bother me now as I have a Power Dynamo system. There is a post somewhere on here from me when I was trying to sort it out.
