How to dissassemble KYB OC 48 Cartridge + Revalve suggestions

    Hello,
    how do you seperate the Cartridge from the Cartridge head to acces the Midvalve? I dont see any peens as there are on many other OC forks, do i just need to build a cartridge holding tool and use a screwdriver or punch to screw the cartridge head with some heat?

    Did someone Revalve these forks? They ride to low in the stroke and deflect on big hits, im not really happy with the stock valving. I would try removing some rebound face shims and maybe a smaller Clamp shim on the BV, had good luck on other forks doing that. Maybe some face shims on the BV too? I dont want them to be too soft as i ride some faster stuff most of the time. I still prefer a slightly softer than usual setting for some 2-3h enduros.

    just a little update, got them apart. Was not as bad when heating up the threads.
    Nuts were still peened over, so these are the Stock stacks for a 12 TE 310 as far as i can tell.

    I removed two 24mm face shims on the KYB 48 OC of my '11 TE310. The stock MV/Rebound stacks seems to be the same as yours, but the BV stack is a little different though (see pic). The removal of two face shims on the BV did improve a little bit the harness and deflection but it isn't enough. I'm planning to disassemble the cartridge the next time I service it and remove one or two face shims of the MV and/or increase the float a bit.

    How did you end up setting the BV and MV stacks?

    Btw, any hint on how to disassemble the cartridge? Any special or fabricated tool? Do you have pics?

    I cant answer your specific questions, but I was having issues with my 10' TE250 KYB 48 OC forks deflecting, being harsh, and stiction since a seal replacement last summer (2018), and generally was never happy with them. So last month I drained and flushed the old fluid, greased under the dust seal, and replaced the old fluid with Bel Ray synthetic 5W, lowered the oil level to 120mm, and they are plush as can be. I have never been happier. I should add that I weigh about 190 lbs geared up, with my rear sag at 100mm. my two cents before tearing apart the valve stack.
