• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

How do you think this looks?

I thought it turned out pretty good.

The white sure looks nice, but after a few rides, I could see it was going to wear pretty fast. This took less than 5 minutes per side, so if I have to replace it even once a month during the season, that's ok with me.

It's 3M vinyl film, the same stuff used to wrap cars and was super easy to work with. We'll see how tough it is.

I think it looks pretty good. 3M is pretty good stuff. I used to use the 3M clear stuff on my frame to keep the paint from wearing off from the boots but then I remembered that bikes were meant to get dirty and worn. That carbon looks pretty sweet through.

Where did you get it? I think it looks great, I have 4-5 inches of bare metal on my frame on both sides from boot rub.

Just an update.
I've put about 4 hrs on the bike since, and see only minor abrasion on the vinyl. It looks like I'll probably get at least a half season, and maybe a full one out of it.

Im going to try this stuff out, I used to put clear 3m stuff on my frame but I could wear a hole in it in one race. Maybe this is a little more durable.

Looks good to me! going to give it a try. Where did you get those rubber frame protectors below the wrap you put on? I was going to try to see if I can modify the plastic KTM ones to fit, but that rubber would be even better.
