  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hand Guards for 2012 TE250

All,

I'm looking for handguards that will fit a 2012 Husky TE250. To be honest I'm new
to the dirt bike world and am a little confused on which guards will fit along
with which mounting brackets. What are most of you using for handguards and
which mounting option? Any pictures would be great also.

Thanks

my dealer sold me acerbis and now i cant adjust my levers. most hand guards are the same.
freestylehusqvarnauk know the answer to this!
sorry i forgot

I bought cycra probends for my 2012 te310. Fit nice. Comes with 2 different adapters for different sized bars. If you have Magura bars they will work nice and have good adjustment to get around clutch , brake etc.

Here are two pics. cycra.jpgcycra2 (2).jpg

I've got Barkbusters EGO guards on my 2012 TE250 - easy install and solid construction, also not a stupid huge size. Will get pics up soon as I can...so far they've proven their worth!

Thanks for the info! For the Bark Busters, which mounting kit did you purchase for the EGO handguards?
Also, what bars are on the 2012 TE250? Margura or Pro Tapered?

Thanks,

I have used several brands. Moose, Cycra, Enduro Engineering, acerbis and the only ones ill ever buy again are Highway Dirt bikes. Lets face facts. I am not fast at best I am a mid pack C rider weighing about 200lbs and I crash a lot because i typically ride way over my head! In New England it's mostly rocks roots and trees. This year I collided with a ATV and later got tossed by a root hard at full speed both twisted the front but neither resulted in broken levers or fingers and in both casses I picked the bike up and rode away. HDB are simple the best hand guards and the only ones ill ever buy again!

Late reply sorry - I used the Magura fittings as I believe the 2012 TE250 has Magura's. I've also fixed the image links above with luck.

The cycras are well built, a little on the big side but not "Stupid Huge Size" as Chris2012 noted above. There are larger and smaller shield sizes out there. The Cycra Probends are in the middle as far as size is concerned. The larger size works well in a crash and keep my hands warm when it is chilly out.

I have Enduro Engineering on mine but I still seem to go through bent clutch levers when I drop the bike on jagged rocks...

Do you possibly have any pics of the clamps on the bars close up or a top view. I think the Cycra Probend CRMs would work best on my '13 310 if the center clamps are not wider than 3/4 inch or so as that's the clearance between clamps and curve of bars. A measurement of the clamp would be great. The nice thing about those CRMs is it won't obstruct my tie down hooks or soft straps and change any routing. Thanks in advance.

center clamps are a tad less than 3/4 of an inch (19mm) I think they will fit since the 2013 TE310 bars are the same as the 2102's? Here are some more pics.cycra1.jpgcycra2.jpgcycra3.jpgcycra4.jpg
