Hi all I used a1 metre lifting strap to undo 38 nut and clutch basket. Then found my trouble ,have a look.
I dont understand your trouble or whats in the bottom picture but you could have bought a clutch tool -click 4 link- its the same as i used on my clutch.
What is that piece? I also used a nylon strap just like yours, but anchored it around the frame where the foot peg is.
Yes dynobob woodruff key, I'm finding more as I dig deeper. Clutch tool would probs take weeks to sourch over here and I only got the bike a week ago.
Well it worked! I use am impact driver and a hand to hold basket but hay thats me, woodruff key the issue before you resorted to strap or result from strap?
Before I started. The last owner said it needed a counter balance shaft but I thought it could be something else so I think the woodruff key broke then sent balance to pot. My UK husky dealer cant get me a clutch basket inner bush until November F*#K that.
Inner bush? Please explain? The rubber cush bits or the gear ring that the bearings run on? Ive a spare shagged clutch basket i can rip apart FOC if any parts match your welcome to em.
I like the ingenuity!! There are several ways to do most things and even if i don't use a strap for my clutch basket I may use it somewhere else! Thanks for the idea!!! Sorry about your broken key and good luck with your rebuild!!!
yes Spice Weasel I used them years ago for two strokes, got the woodruff keys but wrong nut and washer for counter balance shaft. Bad bid was they can't get the inner bush until November WTF!. Good bit Indy has one for me with the cup washers so hopefully some where near in two weeks. Thanks.
I have to admit, I find the long wait you could have had for parts quite worrying. I dont know who Indy is, but it think to need to find out before i cant get parts. Nice one getting the parts I bought my Husky from Newcastle Motorcycles, then they stopped dealing Husqvarna
IndyUnlimited on Advrider...he's the fella who makes more robust cup washers for the clutch, and will also do the install of them.
Yes Eric that's him I've read up a lot on this common problem and had to get a second hand basket as mine was worn on the back of spring seat so I hope the new shim and uprated washers do the trick. Spice Weasel it must have been a while since you got the husky from them.
