I use to ride with the gas light on for a couple miles before filling up, but now it seems like my light comes on and within less than a mile and I stall.

what do you guys think this could be?

Where can you buy a new sensor?

I got one on ebay. Check a dealer like Bills or Halls. Not sure what bike your on, but some had the sensor near the fuel pump as opposed to part of the fuel petcock.

2009 te610, thinking about selling it actually for something with less maintenance. I feel like i put in more time fixing it than as a i do riding it...

Fuel sensor is part of the fuel pump assembly. It is a thermistor that you might be able to find online instead of replacing the whole assembly. Unfortunate news on your 610 - my 09 has been trouble free and proved quite versatile.
