I was having trouble finding the X-Lite puller size, so I thought I'd post this info now that I have found it.

    X-Lite 250/310 Engines 26mm x 1.5 RH Female Thread
    Previous gen 450/510 Engines - 26mm x 1.0 RH Female Thread
    2009 & 201010 TE310's - 28mm x 1.0 RH Female Thread
    2 stroke - 26mm x 1.5 RH Male Thread

These are available in the Parts Unlimited Offroad Catalog from Dennis Stubbefield. I'll report back on quality when they come in, but they look comparable to Motion Pro, etc.

Excellent. How much was it? I can't see the price.

Oh and why are you pulling your flywheel?

Both pullers were about $19.50 from powersportsjunkie.com.

The 450 flywheel was being pulled to do a top end and cam chain replacement. I'll also have to use it to find out why my old KTM sounds like a John Deere tractor.

I bought the 250 puller just to have one around. I ran across a thread that mentioned the woodruff key and flywheel could be of issue with hot starting problems. I'd like to check it after those top two projects are settled.

    nice! tahnks for sharing...
is the ktm an RFS? check the right side crank nut (reverse thread aluminum nut- and woodruff key should be replaced if it loosend, and reinstal with Red Locktight to spec torqe.

Does the Ktm RFS use the same as the Husky 450? if so I have one== sweet! I won't need to buy another when the time comes!

Yes, KTM RFS is the same for sure. As far as I can tell from internet research, it looks like virtually all KTM four strokes from at least RFS to present use the same puller. My KTM is a 2007 250 XCF-W RC4 engine, and sites like Rocky Mountain show the same puller for this bike. I'll look and see if my engine has that same nut/key setup and check it. I fear that it may be a crank bearing or something of that nature.

I bought the Motion Pro 26 x 1.0 R.H. puller for my 2011 te310 but the threads on the flywheel look coarser.
Can anyone verify the threads on the flywheel?
I can't thread on the puller.

Ahh I should have paid more attention, I should have went with the 250 X-lite engine, forgot most components are the same, Duh

Phoenix, is your flywheel teeth that the worm drive connects with have a slight concave groove in the middle? I had mine apart tonight to reseal the cover where the wires come through for weeping oil. I had a look around and noticed the these grooves. They did look factory but I just thought I'd ask. Mine does start perfectly though.

Yes, it looks just like that. I thought it was wear when I first looked at it.

Hi all I have an 09 te310 and just bought a 26mm x 1.0 and it doesn't fit. Seems that the flywheel is 27 or maybee 28mm can anyone tell me if they have come across this and what size puller that I need?

    ****EDIT****

    09 & 10 TE310's are 28mm x 1.0 RH female puller.

    My 2012 TE 310 is M26 X1.5 RH Female.
Did not need it this time, though.
The Woodruff key had sheared off and the flywheel was spinning free.

Shearing the Woodruff key seems to be a semi-regular thing with the X-Lite. Maybe we should all take the time to lap the taper to make sure that we have a good fit. My bike is in the shop now and I think I'll ask the mechanic to do this before buttoning things up.

Can anyoen confirm the flywheel puller size for the 08-10 450/510? I got an M26x1 and seems to small. Assuming it would be the M28 puller but hoping someone can confirm.

    the 26 fits the 06' but the 2008 510 needs a
    M28 X 1.0 R.H.

It was hard for me to figure out so hopefully I can help others figure it out with less effort than i did.
fyi, removal of my flywheel was one of the hardest things I've ever thought would be easy. lol it's not complicated but mine was really stuck on there

Thanks Teeszy. I have one on order already. I pretty much confirmed for myself by looking in the micro fiche. This thread lists the 310 as having and M28x1, and it shares the same flywheel as the 450/510.

Good information to have out here though!

So I am going crazy. The M28 puller is too large for my flywheel!

So The M28 is correct for a 2009 SMR510. The first one I got was sold as M28 but was larger... go figure.
