  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Exhaust Mods or upgrades 2009 TE 450

AA Class
Hi, I have a very low mileage 2009 TE 450 that I just have now put the power up kit on, I was talking to George at up-tite about skid plates and a few other things and he said the stock exhaust just cant breathe well enough. He offers a mod to the stock one that helps out a huge amount he said. Anyone else running that setup or other after market ones I should check into?
Thanks for any help, Steve.

+1 ... very curious
I'll have to let you guys know how mine turns out, I'm sending it down to George at Uptite today. He did say what he does to the stock exhaust really lets the bike breathe, and adds greatly to the overall performance of the bike, tork and all. He is very well known for his work on the huskys, I'm sure he will do a good job.
Steve.

Out of interest does he mod the full exhaust (header/midpipe/can) of just the can? also it will be interesting to see how much louder it will be? good luck with the results :)

Ok, I have the uptite exhaust from George installed. Sorry I was wrong about him modifing the stock can, this is his whole new one he offers. I have a few rides on it now and yes, it is a great improvement. It does make the whole power range throughout way smoother, It really runs like different bike. Also really helped out with reducing the bikes vibration that was a big plus for me. As far as if its loud to ME, not bad at all, it does have more of a bass sound but not bad at all. George is a great guy, he even gave me a call after a week or so went by, to see how I liked the parts he sent me, Thanks George.
Steve.
