    Hi Guys,

    I have another question.

I have a Husky SMR510 2009 and per Service Manual the recommended engine oil is the AGIP T4 Racing 10W60. I know there is a new version: the Eni AGIP i-Ride MotoGP 10W60.

However this oil is very expensive and I was wondering if I could put another brand of oil which would be equivalent or so.

I mainly use my Husky on the road, few trackdays and some trail riding.

    Thanks!

I believe Castrol makes a 0W40 now and it is more available in Canada than Mobil1

    $9 a quart, I'll stick with $5 a quart Mobil1.....

If Rotella is marketed north of the border (I think I have seen signs up there at truck stations) - Rotella T6 Synthetic is an absolute bargain. Tons of research on this oil and it is practically subsidized it is run in such quantity. I simplified my life and put the whole house on it a long time ago and have zero regrets.

My oil analysis on my Husky came back perfect with a recommendation to double my change interval and retest.

There is no hype with Rotella - just numbers. You will find quite a few folks running this fleet wide in some very expensive machinery.

My only other go-to is Amsoil. We have a guy close by that is one of the countries largest sellers and sells quite cheaply (20-30% under other costs). I do think they make great oil at a good price, but I think the company is immensely sleazy and simply hate sending my money their direction. They owe me a transmission still, so I fill a bit nauseated when the topic come up.

The good news is that there are LOTS of quality oils available at a good price. Oil is one of those things where money ≠ quality.

I'm just about 200 miles north of you and the Walmarts around here sell Castrol Edge 0W-40 in 5.1 quart jugs for less than $30. For whatever reason they do not carry Mobil's 0W-40 even though others on here seem to have no problem finding it at their Walmart.

If you get time, maybe post that report here and we can all see some real numbers.

Will do, I know I kept it - it is somewhere in the midst of my YZ144 project in the garage.

Shell Rotella 0W-40, Co-Op D MO 0W-40 and Petro Canada Duron E 0W-40 are readily available in western Canada.

Cool... I can get an oil analysis done here, it's a little expensive, but I'd like to really see what this oil is doing at the different hrs of running intervals ... I may just bite the bullet and do a couple here at 10hrs, then 15 hrs of run time and see the numbers ...

Thanks for the info guys! I will try the Mobil1 15W50 (my girlfriend is in the USA now and will bring me some) and next I'll try Rotella T6.

I'd skip the 50w and use 40 in either T6 or 0W40 combination.

As long as your lowest temps are in the 40s F and higher, the 15w50 will treat that bike bike very well, I have nearly 19,000 miles with Mobil1 15w50 as my primary oil.

    Yes it is!

    I have a bigger problem now: http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/smr-510-engine.41723/

Anyways I got some Mobil1 15W50 and I'll try it next, then I'll try Shell Rotalla T4...

I just clicked it and it works.

I was saying that the conrod just exploded on my SMR 510 2009. I need parts or a whole new engine...
