This is probably a dumb question, but with the airbox open to the filter at the bottom how do you wash your bike and not soak the filter? Is there a cover I can purchase or just use good old duct tape each time?

A little water won't hurt anything. The filter will get wet when it is raining.

I have ran bikes through streams before and had to dry them out because they sucked water into the engine through the airbox. Spraying water right onto the filter just seems wrong to me lol.

I don't do anything special when washing mine other than not pointing the hose straight at the airbox openings.

I try to wash the bike by spraying around the airbox, not in it. That said, I think the aibpox is reasonably designed for handling water. Or at least Ive not found any problems with it so far

Stupid design - that is why they changed it on the 630 ... but still suspect construction imo.
