DIY Heat Shield

Noticed a few scorch marks on the inside right leg of my riding pants. Also some tell-tale blobs of nylon on the exhaust pipe where it is exposed between the frame and the muffler.

Thought to myself, perhaps I need a heat shield, otherwise I will end up doing myself a similar injury as the time I got trapped under my Bultaco Alpina many years ago..

Found a bit of 3mm aluminium plate in the shed. So proceeded to cut and drill away everything that didn't look like a heat shield. A couple of hours later and a pile of shavings on the garage floor and this is the result.

Still needs a bit of filing and polishing but am reasonably happy with the result...

Also a big vote of thanks to 7602 Racing for the Clutch (Rekluse) Cover. Thanks Clay.....
