    Hi folks,

I own a 2009 TE 310 (the one with the 50mm Marzocchi forks)

I'm currently trying to service my brakes.
However I just can't seem to be able to fully dissasemble my front calliper.

The two halfs are either totally seized, or not meant to be taken apart.
By the two halfs I mean this:

(generic callipers for reference – not the exact model)

Has anyone here had a similar issue? Are they that seized? Are they not meant to be taken apart? I was able to remove one of the two «sliding bolts(?)» Since one of them has got a nut on it so you can comfortably screw the thing out. The other «sliding bolt» hasn't got anything to grab on to – and thats the one that seems to be stuck (the non-threaded end is stuck).

Already tried: Lubrication and letting it soak for a couple of days / tapping on it in a vice (not too violently) / heat treatment then some more tapping. Nothing worked so far.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

Its seized. The two parts should slide apart easily.

Keep trying or get a good used one. There should be something on ebay.

    Hi folks,

I just gave the calipers to my local bike-shop. I'll have them a go with it, and if they are unable to sort them out I'll look for replacement.
Already found some decent offers on the bay (only in the UK and since I live in Switzerland, Shipping usually takes some time). Too bad I have to sort this out since I wanted to go riding this weekend

BTW: The bolt that is stuck is this one:

    I'll keep you updated …

    Cheers!

    Solved!

Local shop was able to get them apart.

I polished the seized bolt back up a bit, generously lubricated the two sliders and put it all back together.
Now I just have to replace the speedo-sensor which I busted in the process – but that's just details :)

    Thanks for the help everyone!

That is pretty cool...just blow a bit of grease in as long as it doesn't foul the pads.

I didnt realise it was his front, but yes the psi involved with greese gun is huge so if you cant wiggle / penetrate the pin free its the captive slider one the. Yup tap a nipple in and blow it apart.
