I was wondering if it is possible to start a forum just for automatics? If so how do we do it? What do the other Husky auto owners riders think about this. Good idea or bad?

Good Luck!! Looks like the Vintage Classified Section is now closed and thrown in with the regular classifieds for modern bikes:cry:

t isn't a we kind of thing. Someone has to set it up and then the traffic has to go there. It would be pretty easy to make another husqvarna specific group on Yahoo. The guys that have pre 80 or so and enter events with them seem more inclined to stay at one of the yahoo groups, many folks on here are on there. Cafe husky is pretty low level on the advertising as forums go. Forms do kind of turn into an asset with value the way I see things. I read elsewhere on another forum that Dean (coffee) was a moderator for the husky section at thumper talk and that is probably why this site got the traffic and husky talk faded away though might have been bought by the bmw company at a later date,

Using the search function one should be able to find out pretty much what is needed to deal with the bikes. Some will want more of a social media others more nuts and bolts stuff. In the chainsaw forums it appears Mahle isn't extinct at all they make piston and cylinders. Centrifugal clutch drums even ones with sprockets built in are made by the aftermarket. If someone re engineers and makes available at cost like the chainsaw aftermarket stuff that is kind of perishable, makes a bolt in oil filtration system then I might be a little more eager to actually ride one.

Like one post above, how many riders, the things are pretty noisy, less sound more ground, One can get a modern quiet bike and an auto clutch. In my opinion the auto shifting becomes more advantageous in snowmobile terrain.

Though a seperate Auto section would be good in some ways (only the converted would enter so we wouldn't have people throwing stones at our pride and joy) its nice to be social with the disadvantaged. After all we're always in the right gear!:)

    Hi Marty,

While I understand the interest in establishing an "Automatic Forum" there just isn't enough traffic to warrant it.

Marty ..... Is there no FB page for auto lovers ?
I would prefer to see things stay as they are. The auto lovers still post anyway. Creating another page would push them to one side. Just my thoughts.

Grouty, I have been thinking about this and I agree with what you say. I originally posted this subject about two years ago and since then have watched the automatic related posts and probably would not be enough interest to start a separate forum. The last thing I would want is to have the auto owners/riders get pushed aside. Keeping the autos posts with the rest of the vintage left kickers forum I think will also help the interest in the autos grow. I don't do FB so I don't know if there is a FB page for the Husky autos. I wonder how many automatic owners/riders there are here on Cafe Husky?
