I have been using Mobil 1 10w-40 for years and no issues. Last bike I went into the motor looked like new. This is $24 for 5 gal here.

    What a deal... $24 for 5 gal.
Where do I sign up. How much to ship me 20 gallons if I buy 4 containers. Lol

    Just kidding.

There are lots of oil threads already, can-o-worms
No need to spend $20/qt! Spectro, Hondaline, Yamalube are all decent oils for much less. Mobil1 or Rotella T6 are good synthetic oils too.

Are you sure about the Mobil 1 10w -40? Not saying you are wrong or shouldnt use it, but a lot of people are using Mobil 1 0w -40 eruopean car formula. Just checking to make sure you wrote down the right stuff. Once again dont mean to say in anyway you are wrong about what youare using.

But to the original post, have no idea if that oil will be goodd, but I been using what a lot of guys that put a lot more and a lot harder miles on their bikes than i do use and have no way of knowing (never had motor apart) if it is good or not but so far so good. Mobil 1-0W 40 European Car Formula. 25$ Walmart. Change it 3-6 hours depending on whether I raced or just been trail riding.

10w 40 doesn't harm anything. You can use 0wt. but will break down quicker exspecally if you abuse the clutch. I wouldn't use if you ride in 90*f+ weather.

Don't know about the Quicksilver or 10-40 Mob1, but the 0-40 Mob1 has been excellent in my 300 with Rekluse.
In the 165 I'm using Rotella T6 which is also excellent so far. Both the above are on sale at Walmart or auto parts places regularly for @ $25us.

I run the Mobil 1 0w 40 in the hot 100*+ F. Arizona weather and have since my '15 FE501 had it's first 1 hour oil change when it was new. 160+ hours now, with no problems.

I have been running a Rekluse Clutch that takes plenty of abuse for the past 60 hours.

Valve clearance was just checked at 150 hours and is fine.
