Prepping the 75 250WR for CC...

Any recommendations on better footpegs similar to modern bikes?
    Something with some teeth?

No idea how Torsten, Bengt, or Malcolm ever rode with those slippery pegs...even the ones on 75's.

With the husky products replicas, hit them with a file on the top. There is no way, foot pegs ever need to be that sharp haha. Awesome pegs tho. I've never slipped on them

weld half of some old modern pegs to the back of the vintage ones spot weld the top edge of the vintage for extra grip.

I made my own by taking 1/2" wide x 3/16" thick steel. You tac one end and tac the last straight then heat it and curve the bend tac it along the way have an adjustable wrench ready to keep it verticle. Tack the inside and outside so it won't pull to one side so it stays verticle. If it pulls you can also slow down your welding speed on the opposite side and pull it back too. Then either grind in or file in the slots.

DC Plastics has weld on peg wideners. http://www.dcvmx.com/xcart/product.php?productid=18776&cat=395&page=1 Pre formed, measure your peg width, weld the wideners on. You can even fudge a little to gain some extra width and length when you zap them on. Easy, and for me they worked great. I couldn't keep my boots on my stock 74 pegs...Now my pegs work as good as modern ones. BTW, my experience with DC was excellent.

I make my own just like bill describes but I use thinner pieces of strap that comes out of modern bike shipping crates.

Here are a couple. The first set my son made out of stainless for a birthday present. The second set is a stock peg with mild steel wrapped around. A local welder did it for $30. both work very well.
