    Greetings!

I have an ‘06 Smr510 that broke a cam yoke when the piston hit the valve and poped the cam out. I got a newish head and valves off another bike and the intake cam is binding now. I was thinking a cam bearing replacement would solve the issue but now am wondering if the cam is bent? Bearing seems smooth until I torque the caps down. Then cam binds when spun. Should I just look for a new cam or try bearing change? I guess I should ask a dial indicator this question! Lol

Exactly! If you can check the runout that's a good start. You're using the new head right? Can you get the cam too? Also try perhaps installing the other (exhaust) cam with no valves to compare?

Check cam for run out, replace cam bearings (non Chinese).
Were the bearing caps from the SAME head?
If not remove the guide sleeves from cam caps on the cam that binds.
    Try it. Just might work.

Yes, yokes are from new head, no mix and match. I think bearings are bad. Thanks.
