When researching I came up with 2 options, the IMS and the Nomad (small and large)

I ended up with the Nomad 4.5l. Easy to fit, and I also strap my tool bag on top of it.

It connects to the breather from the main tank, so it drains down into the tank as you ride.

Bike has been upside down and fallen at various angles, and absolutely no problems with it staying on.

Stateside, Motorsportz is probably your best bet, though I ended up having to get mine from Australia as we have no importers here.

I installed an IMS to add some serious distance to my 511.
When topped up the weight is obviously there. Unless I really need the extra fuel I usually run it about half full and the weight is hardly noticable.
It is a little wider at the knees as well but not enough to bother me once I'm rolling.
Directions for install were very good and the thing has been bullet proof

I saw that, unfortunately I have an 11 and I guess the fender is different enough that it wouldn't work right. Otherwise we'd be doin business. That's a great price BTW, hint hint Allman Fan.

IMS works great for me! The additional weight up front actually helps with the handling to me.

Where did you find the white side panel. Or did you paint it. I like that look better than the red side panel

wasn't a problem for me in the sand. Handled some deep sand in Utah and Big Bend very well. IMHO

Let that sucker sit in the sun without any fuel in it and it will fade to white or at least off-white which was much more to my liking.

The white side panel were from a new set of plastics in white. I cut the brandnew plastics up to fit the new tank. And I agree I like the looks of white verses red. I started looking for the white plastics at Halls Cycles; they then referred me to a gentleman in Arizona and I bought the last set he had. These bikes are neat but sourcing parts is a nightmare for me. Plus the white plastics were $216 for both....looked great though ....still look great I think although a bit stained with Utah mud/dirt :)

The 18 Ltr Baja Tank was a neat solution on my te449 Rally Bike and was important to me to keep the original profile, and room up at the front end. Retained the OEM seat and surprisingly no changes to front suspension required; just a stronger spring and re-valve on the rear. (Came from Bianchi Prata in Portugal who started out building for their Dakar machines but not sure if they are running, hence building, for Huskys nowadays) Will soon see what they run in this years event assuming they are entered.

I love the Bianchi tank, but I am having trouble justifying the $1000 it would cost to bring it here.

So...how is that muffler tank idea coming along Tinken?

Wow, that Bianchi tank is sexy for sure, but that is a tough pill to swallow.
