Auto side cover compatability

    Husqvarna Motorcycle:
    78 390WR, 78 390 AMX, 500 Humph
    Other Motorcycles:
    works 73 CCM 520, another 73 CCM520
    Other than the wording "Automatic" on the 1979 390 auto clutch cover, are they the same as the 78 ones ?
    I rather like the look of the wording on the side and want to build another motor using this left side cover.

    The 79 390 auto cover will not fit the 78 390 auto motor case. In 79 Husky changed the shape of the bottom of the side cover and center case slightly. I think they did this to add a bit more space for increased oil capacity.

    I will have a look at my bikes, I thought they changed for the 420 when they also added the crank end oil feed?

    Yes, Compared to the 79 & 80 390 auto, the 420 auto center cases changed again and the clutch side cover changed again
