• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I have a pretty sweet ATK 406. I have a lot of newer bikes so this does not see a ton of action but always surprises me how good it is when i do. I have no issue hanging with modern bike on it. Is compentent with new machines and is EZ to ride. Flexible strong motor, good handling and surprisingly good suspension as well. I call it my Capitan America bike. :smirk: Anyway did a few vids of the ride. Realized there are almost no vids on the internet of people riding ATK 406's so thought i would share. Fun day...

That looked like an epic day!

And I dig the ATK! And I'd like to steal it for a ride one day.
I recently went woods riding with a guy on a KTM495 and I was digging that too. It would just idle up mountains and never break traction. Old woods bikes still rule the woods.

Very nice there's nothing like the torque of an open class bike.I've never riden one of those but have had a lot of open class 2 strokes in the stable sold the last one earlier this year. you guys have some great looking riding out in the western part of the country.

Love the graphics on the tank. The motor has a real growl rather than a ring ding. What a great ride you got in there. looks like a Husky head light and cowl there.

Mate I just sold my 605, I had it ported, high comp piston, suspension mods, steering damper, ron wood guided me with the porting and head work. I loved the thing. Had to sell to fund the business!! I have always vowed I will get a 406 - anyone got one for sale!!!

very very nice. if ya like tractor 2 strokes that Rotax 400 is something else, short shift and go go go. I sold mine a long time ago due to the "Too many bikes syndrome" that effects alot of us here,,,,especially the guy riding this 406 (we are just jealous!!)
PS would not want slide off that crest.....

When i got my 86 WR400 i thought it was better, i had not ridden the ATK for a while. Took it out and liked it real well again. Fun bike to ride. Motor wise the WR400 has more right off idle and into the bottom, the ATK has a softer bottom and more mid and revs quicker / EZer. Similar in the motor department but the WR can for sure short shift and lug better. Fun riding this old iron.

I have a nice ATK 490 that I am going to sell. I was going to build the motor as well but with a TE449 coming i don't see that bike getting any use.
