• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Any interest in SE regional Husky Meet/Demo in GA mid April '12????

Bobby

Husqvarna
AA Class
Pretty much as the title states.

We are entertaining the idea of having a 3-4 day SE regional Dual Sport/Husqvarna demo meet one hour north of Atlanta at a private riding reserve. The property has over 13 miles of tight east coast single track and another 5-6 miles of aggressive jeep type trails, a novice MX short track and a GP loop along with private lake and landscaped camping/RV area. For significant others that may not ride, there is an outlet mall 3 miles from this property and all of the ammenities of the urban environment including a Best Western Hotel and plenty of tourist opportunities in the region.

Please indicate your interest in such an event and which of the following aspects you're primarily interested in:
Husky Gathering/single track riding
Dual sport riding
Husky Demo's
Adventure bike clinic
Enduro clinic by Husky NA racers

Ideally we would love to have all of the above, but have to get the ball rolling by mid December if I'm to pull it off the way we want to. Feedback would be wonderful!

Definitely interested. PM me with the area details so I can start sweet talking the wife. I'd be interested in all of the above events.

That sounds like a ton of fun! The venue sounds pretty sweet, too. Hmm...I wonder what plane tickets are going for...

If I could go I'd say my interests, in order of importance, would be:
  • Husky Gathering/single track riding
  • Husky Demo's
  • Dual sport riding
  • Enduro Clinic by Husky NA racers
  • Adventure bike clinic

A couple of new Huskys have shown up around here, (Alabama) with a couple more looking, but on the fence. Something like this might push them on over. Most would be looking at the Dual Sports. I know of 5 or 6 that go to the KTM demo in GA every year, this might pull them also. I'll come if Husky comes out with a new 250lb TE650.:) I'll post it up to them, if you decide to do this for sure.

Yes be interested, gathering, demos, and fun or Fun,gathering, and demos. What ever. Sounds good. Just need a date

if im still around the SE corner, i would consider taking a few days off to get up there with my SM, given the ideal of it running by then ;-)

Very interested, timing will be critical, last semester of civ eng degree ends April 30.
I would sign up for enduro clinic and demos. Bikeless at the moment, will be re-upping in the spring, probably two new bikes.

This is getting closer to being a reality and the weekend we are honing in on is Friday April 20-Sunday the 22nd. Ideally we will have dirt and adventure clinics on Friday and Saturday with demos Saturday and Sunday. There would be camping available on-site Thursay through Monday and there is a Best Western 3 miles from the gate. Self guided dual sport rides with either GPS and/or roll charts all three days. Probably have a catered dinner/party Saturday night and be providing lunch as well for pre-registered folk.

It will be open to all, however my goal/plan is to have a "special" package for Husky owners and I'm sure most of us would love to share some riding time with non-husky folk and use the opportunity of demo rides to hook them into the insanity

New owner of a 2011 TE 310, would def be interested:
Husky Gathering/single track riding
Dual sport riding
Husky Demo's
Adventure bike clinic

I live here in downtown Atlanta. If anyone else lives near downtown, I have some secret inner city trails to ride on if anyone wants to ride.
Coming from a 1977 wr250, this is a big step up :)

i'm a new owner of WR 360 and am in, interested in single track, demo rides, gathering & enduro clinic.....
@kyle i'm in PTC s/o ATL and am certainly interested in city trails!

thx,
K

Bobby - I'm in Canton Ga and have 2 Husky guys that would come with me. The dates may be a conflict but count us in for the moment. John Hunter
