• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Alpinestars Super Victory boots - going, going, gone!!!

Just saw a posting on Mark's Vintage site that Metro Racing is down to their last 30 or so pairs of Alpinestars boots and some boot parts, (straps, buckles, toe kicks) and when these are gone there will not be any more available as they are no longer being made.

This is just an FYI as I have no affiliation with Metro Racing. I just feel Alpinestars are great boots and wear them myself.

they will be back...this isnt the first time they have been discontinued. better not wait tho. i havent checked out this latest incarnation, but the pair i had rebuilt are great boots

I just do not have the money to play with right now. If I buy the boots, I do not have the money to get a couple bikes ready to sell. Vicious cycle here!!

I checked them out online when I first heard of them. I really like them as they are a successor to the Hi Points I bought in 1975

I still have the Alpine Stars boots I bought in 78. The new ones are not quite the same for me :(

I bought my third pair just last year. I suspect the first one was in 1992. They are pretty much the same over that year span. The later two have a bit more plastic in the buckles. I do kind of not approve of sewing in the Italian colors in the little spot when the last ones are made in CZ. Will the next version be made elsewhere or not at all can't say. There were essentially the same thing marketed as MSR at some point.

Kind of a strange business model that metro girl has. Basically has elected to sell on ebay and pay the fees and doing so means you have to charge all your customers that price.

The first two pairs are called Hi Point not sure why they changed to super victory. I assume Hi point is for the winner of an enduro which actually has the lowest score.

the ones i bought in the late 90s were marketed as MSR...made in italy. did not know they were made in cz now, strange to still have italian flag in that case. still better than made elsewhere...

Hello everybody,

Does someone know where to find the replacement straps for Hi-Point boots (I guess type #2)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
